Remember "The Rose" by Bette Midler? It starts...some say love...Would you be reminded of that just by looking at this card?
I've been wanting to make my SIL "Rose" a card. She's been on my mind ...as she is recovering from shoulder surgery. If I pronounce it slowly... by syllable... I can say it...other wise it comes out soldier surgery.
Both of these challenges spoke to me and this morning I drew a sketch. I created this negative cut using SCAL. After playing with it for some time I was able to make the rose look realistic. I used a heavy weight card stock and cut it twice. I colored the rose with Spectrum Noir, then place it back in the negative cut. No problem placing the inny cut in the "R & O" but it was a bit tedious placing the tiny bit of the "e" in place.
I'm pleased with how it turned out. Mounted on a 4.25" X 5.5" red base card-after doing three scored lines on the top and right side. That is how the Rose...rose.
Be well and craft on! ~ Carole
