Upsy Daisies

Daisies are delightful and so fresh and fun. That's what inspired me to make this card for a friend. But daisies don't tell so I won't either.

I cased this card from Lisa . As soon as I saw it I had to have the Upsy Daisy die from My Favorite Things. When I checked out the site, it was out of stock. Bummer. But I have to say that I asked to be notified when it was available, and sure enough within a few days they did. I ordered it the same day and it arrived in 3 days. How's that for service? I was pleased.

I actually made this card so that it can be recycled, by making two envelopes and including a corner pocket on the inside left.

I used MS photo corner punch so that the verse could be changed, then I included a piece of card stock to write a personal message. I explained that the card was made with her in mind, but if she wanted to recycle it she could, that's why I included an extra envelope and didn't sign the card.

I think it's fun and versatile. What do you think?

Recycling

I love looking at things differently. Like mail, all the catalogs, flyers, magazines and invitations to luncheons promoting investments or senior centers. There are some quality papers, glossy colors and inspiration in the things we discard without a closer look. Packaging too offers opportunities for recycling. Some fragrances come in beautiful packaging. Even some clothing comes with cute little tags or charms.

These two cards were made from various advertisements. Pieces punched from around the ads, crimped, embossed and layered. Fun frivolous and thrifty. I was inspired by a picture of some wall art in a home decor catalog. I will continue to look at things through the eyes of a thrifty crafter. Keep on crafting.
