What a great sketch Julee. I was working on a gift set of thank you cards using complimentary colors. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to do a monochromatic card using a lot of texture. I cut out the shapes but when I did the lay out it did not show well, so I backed all the pieces with white to outline each shape. This is the cover jacket and the base color for all the cards.
The above photo shows the gift folder open with two cards I posted yesterday using the same color family. The center card made following the sketch.
Here's the card I'm entering in the contest. I've adjusted the length and width of the rectangles and changed the flower. I look forward to using this sketch with different patterned papers for a totally different look. I can't wait to see what everyone else does with this fantastic sketch.
I will complete this gift set with 6 cards and envelopes. Just for fun I might even line the envelopes and add a stamped image for a completely matching set. I love details. How about you?
I will post the completed set next time. Till then keep on crafting...

Very pretty Carole!! Love the textures! And blue is my favorite color, so I'm partial there too! :o)
ReplyDeleteOh My....just lines and to colors and it's gorgeous...and you did a whole set.....I LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all the textures, Carole, and agree that adding the layer of white gives each layer more depth and personality! This set is going to make someone very, very happy!!
ReplyDelete(I love details, too, but most of the time I totally forget to do the envelope and I LOVE when I get a card with the envelope done. That's something I can work on this year, so thanks for the nudge!)
A very nice card, very elegant!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Lidia
Such a pretty take on the sketch! CAS and yet not! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's certainly one way to get around trying to match up colours and patterned papers! Perfect! I love monochrome, this is just lovely :)
ReplyDeleteVery soft and lovely, Carole!
