I've created this one layer card using holly leaves for the
"Less Is More" challenge. I used MS score board to create the 1/4" border, then used my favorite sakura gelly roll pen to outline the scored lines. I printed the "Merry Christmas" using Vivaldi font on acetate with the mirror feature on, then I rubbed it on the card.
I would really like to own some sentiment stamps but I'm on a budget and I would have to really LOVE the stamp or have a 50% off coupon before I purchased it. I just can't justify my compulsive need to want more craft items, when my craft space is so full of supplies. I am trying to live ...Less Is More ;)
Now if I look at creating LIM Christmas Cards I would save a lot of time as well. Merry Christmas... poinsettia punch...or jingle bells...or Christmas tree, quick and simple, right?
Stay tuned we'll see what develops.
When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?" ~Howard Ikemoto
Be well...till we meet again ;) Hugs Carole
This is really pretty, I have never heard of printing on to acetate and then transferring the image... would it not have been easier to print directly on to the card or is a more subtle effect achieved by this method?
ReplyDeleteIt gets me thinking about other images however!!!!
Thanks so much for joining us.

Beautifully simple, just as the remit says x
ReplyDeleteExcellent job on transferring the sentiment using the acetate paper! I'm not sure I could do that! The card is simple...but makes a perfect Christmas card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and I love the acetate technique - not heard or tried that one before - will try it at some point Karen x

This is a lovely Christmas card, I am intrigued by the acetate transfer. I too am finding I have full boxes in my craft room, and like your idea of living - Less is More. Your quote at the end of your blog re forgetting how to draw is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful design!
