What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #258

Thanks to all the deskers that paid me a visit and I hope you had a happy
Mother's Day. When is  Mother's day in the UK?

This is a project that didn't work....I tried painting over a child's puzzles first with spray paint then with acrylic markers only to have the paper lift off the chip board. But I didn't give up.

Back at the craft store in the children's section I found this wonderful fun sparkling self adhesive foam, and it covered the chip board quite nicely. It's for an installation ceremony for our newly elected board members I wrote about in the previous post.

I cut the letters with my cricut using vinyl and adding foam glue to the back. I placed the letters on an edge of a ruler for correct placement...then just laid them down.

I found some Shrinky Dinks I've had stashed... [well they just kind of popped up] so I traced some puzzle pieces...and punched some flowers. So fun! I'll offer them as a memento.

Your turn...show us what's on your workdesk...details available here at the Stamping Ground

I'll be delighted to answer any questions and to read your comments.

Thanks so much for doing that.
Happy trails...I'm going snooping :)
Be well Carole

  3. Wow, love that project...great colours and I love the puzzle piece 'twist' at the end!! Mothering Sunday is in March in the UK - the date varies, it's all tied up with as to when Easter falls.

  4. Gorgeous, Carole! What an original idea, to use the puzzle. Sometimes I think it's a very good thing when one's original plan doesn't work, because it makes one think about alternatives, and this expands one's knowledge base for the future! Nothing like a challenge, is there!

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. Yes, a bit too neat and tidy for my liking but no doubt I shall mess it all up again before next week lol!

    Happy WOYWW,

  7. Carole, thank you for your sweet comment! I wish I had a woman's club--this turned out beautifully too. It is so fun when I see crafters using shrinky dinks because I remember back in the 1980's when I helped my little sister make them. Wow. Take care dearest! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #68

  10. Great idea. Mothers Day nin the UUK is usually around March, sadly close to my birthday so I once said not to bother with a gift of flowers for Mothering Sunday - he doesn't LOL. Woe betide him if he forgets a card though.
Your work shows patience wins in the end.

  18. As always, it's great to catch up with you, Carole! I loved your cards on the last post and this whole idea of the puzzle and how you are presenting it when the new officers are installed - just genius!! I have done installations in the past for our legal secretaries association and it was always a challenge thinking of new themes. I'm no longer involved, but I will pass on this idea to the youngsters as I think it is just too clever and fun! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell

  19. Actually, by spraying all that wet "stuff" over the paper on the cardboard, you managed to get the paper part off with little trouble. That is actually the first thing most people do who alter these puzzles. Nicely done, and good that you didn't give up. Thanks so much for visiting me on Wednesday and happy very belated WOYWW from #1.
