WOYWW: die cuts and foam board

I entered this challenge a while back and so many of my blog buddies post here I will enter again. The thing that stops me is there are sooooooo many entries, I couldn't possibly visit them all. Here on the east coast it's 7 a.m. on Wednesday and there are already over 100 entries.
Enough let's get it going. Here's what I discovered.

Did you know you can die cut foam board? How fun is that. You probably did know, but I didn't.
I went through my old collection of Sizzix dies and cut out theses  stars, stocking, ornament and light bulb. I should have taken more pictures but I wanted to get this posted. You don't need dimension dots for these. Another brilliant idea..I can use the scraps with double sided tape.

Next I cut out hearts, so cute,  and then tried the thin dies... but they only leave a deep impression. I tried several different "sandwiches" that did not work, so I tried some foam sheets.  That worked great!

Sorry for the blurry pics, I was so excited my hands were shaking. Seriously I do have a difficult time holding the camera steady.

I will continue to experiment with different dies and felt, foam or cardboard. You'll have to stop back to see more pictures and how I use them.

Be well my buddy bloggers and craft on!  ~ Carole

  13. It looks like you are having some serious fun cutting everything. I myself do that from time to time to stock up on some supplies. It is also good when you rediscover the old dies and use them. They were expensive back then too.

    Happy cutting this week.

  14. Welcome to WOYWW, Carole! I do what Janet does and so do many others, so it's not too much of a "job." Plus, I take all week to do it and I don't think anyone minds that. A comment is still a comment and we all appreciate them.

You are doing a great tutorial here on the other ways to use your die cuts. I'm bookmarking this post and staying tuned for more!

Thanks for always visiting and supporting me with your sweet comments! Have a great WOYWW! Darnell #59

  18. They'll make wonderful solid stamps too, these foam die cut shapes. The dies will only cut stuff about the same thickness as itself because the 'blade' is highest pointin the flat part of the die.
