Hanging Ligth bulb vases

Hanging Light Bulb Vases

I saw this on Pinterest and loved it, and knew that Iwould give it a try. After several weeks a bathroom light bulb blew out and it sat on my desk for a couple weeks and then another 15watt bulb blew so now I have 2.

l pulled up Pinterest, went to my boards under then clever ideas to find the link on how to do this. So very carefully using a crafting knife I dissembled the bulb, removed the filament and cleaned out the white dust the coats the inside. Using 20 gauge wire I created the hanger. My photo is poor but you get the idea.  I just love recycling and taking things apart. Light bulbs have such an adorable curvacious shape...do you agree?

Here's the first Christmas card of the season. I punched several stems with leaves to create this wreath, added the medium hydrangeas with a bow on top. I rolled the paper through a corrugated embossing tool leaving a space, then rolled the other end. I hand wrote peace then covered it with red stickles. I'm getting more comfortable writing some sentiments with a pencil using lines then erasing them.

Personal note: I'm ever so grateful for a steady  hand. I'm reminded of that simple skill when watching my best friend struggle with Parkinson's disease. She's not as willing to go to lunch now because it's so difficult to control her hands while trying to eat. She's feels like people are staring at her and she's embarrassed. Poor dear. It's rude to stare.

I have so many blessings and I'm thankful for simple creature comforts that we tend to take for "granite".... (right Darnell)  Running water is high on that list, absence of  pain is most appreciated after we recover. Hold onto thoughts of gratitude and watch them expand.

Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you - not because they are nice, but because you are.  ~Author Unknown

  4. What a fabulous way to recycle those burned out light bulbs!! And I agree, they have a fabulous curvy shape - very pleasing to the eye!

Sweet wreath on your first Christmas card of the year ... love the corrugated texture - adds to much ... and what a great idea to leave a small strip plain in the middle for the sentiment.
