I love Lilacs

I'm particularly passionate about purple....I love lilacs, hydrangeas, wisteria, petunias, pansy's and all things purple.

Using my favorite floral  MS Hydrangea punch, I created this replica of a bunch of lilacs. I used some Hallmark envelopes to create this beauty. The envelopes are made with a lighter weight paper, and what's perfect is that it's a core color....color through and through and light enough to shape.

The paper punched easily and using a stylus on a foam core pad, I shaped these tiny flowers for the added dimension. I laid down three lines of glue, then dropped the embossed blooms into the glue...positioning them with a straight pin.

I have a friend that stocks greeting cards at the local grocery store. She saves all the unused...extra envelopes and gives them to me. Better then trashing them, and I find many uses for this special paper.

This envelope is the one I used, even though the color looks different. I used a craft knife to cut the folds, I embossed the center cut for the base  and using the folds to punch the flowers.

I relate flowers to sweet memories and the lily, lilac and hyacinth are among the sweetest.

I will end this post stating that every season offers a selection of my new favorite flowers.
Be well ~ Carole

  3. These are so very beautiful Carole. I never had thought of using the hydrangea punch for lilacs, and the embossed card is a beautiful backdrop.

I just got back from a trip, and am trying to catch up with everytone. I loved the cards in yesterday's post, and the card holder too, and also the cards from the day before.

I'm so glad I found your blog. You are very talented!

  4. Wow! I love how your lilacs just hit me when I opened up the page of your blog, Carole! THey are splendid. I too love purple and the flowers you named I enjoy also. God gave us so many wonderful plants!

I'm not sure if I thanked you for telling me the names of my daughter's angels, so thank you very much. She smiled when I told her and thought it was just the neatest thing!
