Remember this floral card lying on my desk on Wednesday ? I completed it by trimming the edge with a MS border punch, adding the strip of purple and another punched border. Done.
I continued rummaging and pulling out different embellishments that caught my interest and dropped them on my work space. Well.... just the way these 2 birds got caught together gave me a chuckle as I spied the "Thinking of You" oval.
And that is how this card came together. The horizontal strip is a single line of polka dots trimmed from a scrap. It made the perfect perch. The narrow stripes in the background suggest a cage. The golden edged oval and the script on the sentiment demanded some bling. Don't you love the look in his eye?.... "WHAT are you thinking?"
I have many card toppers started or cut. In fact I have a bin of them. 4" X 5.25" pieces of card stock some embossed or stamped, some mistakes...like this one. Without the poppies popping over the edge it would look to be off balance. But I like this card, I salvaged it ...using my new Prim Poppies from Memory Box, a slash of polka dots and musical washi tape, completed with some black glitter in between. Suitable for many occasions...just add sentiment.
Golden rings of various sizes placed over a strip of leopard fabric on an abstract cut - black base. Inside revels a striped strip to delineate the curve. I'm not sure yet how to finish this one. Your ideas or suggestion would be appreciated.
I appreciate all my followers....and happily return visits to all that leave comments or questions. Thanks for visiting. Be well and craft on...I've gotta get back to playing! :) ~ Carole
