Blue Hydrangeas

If you've followed my blog for awhile you know I love blue hydrangeas, so when I saw this post by Loll I knew I wanted to play with my hydrangea punches. I loved how Loll used white card stock and inked the edges of the petals. That was the inspiration for this card. I used an impress-abilities plate to emboss the white card stock, then lightly sponged over the embossed area with blue. It has a lacy effect don't you think?

I punched a bunch.... of flowers and leaves, sponged on the blue ink, shaped them and added the pearls. I randomly glued the leaves and flowers to the corner, attached the ribbon, rick rack and sentiment to complete the card. So pretty it makes me happy:)

In this picture to the right you can see my bunch of punches. Using "tack it over and over" I made little dots of adhesive on a recycled piece of acetate packaging, so after inking and shaping the petals I just stuck them to a glue dot. They come off easy enough and can be placed and removed before gluing permanently.

Thanks Loll for the inspiration. Be well and thank you for visiting. ~Carole

  2. Hi Carole, love your hydrangea card and so happy that I inspired you ... you are so sweet! Your spray is gorgeous ... and I love the embossed background with the light sponging - it definitely looks lacey. Great job!
