I really like the email reminders "there is still time to play". With so much going on in the blog-esphere I don't always get around to creating cards for my favorite challenges, so the reminders are helpful. Thank you.
There are times that I look at a sketch and can visualize the papers and stamps I want to use. This was one of them. I started with craft paper covering the front base card. Perhaps the sketch triggered that.
Then I pulled out My Minds Eye 6 X 6 paper pad called Lost and Found. I love these double sided 6 X 6 paper pad collections. After I took the photo I put the card down on the paper pad opened to the page featuring the pop of orange/red and I thought that would make a great border. So I stopped blogging and made the change.
I cut the card base in half, I'll save and use the white half for stamping or scraps. I then trimmed the card front to allow for a quarter inch border then layered the card on top of the orange/red, then glue it to a new card base.
It's interesting how after I start blogging when I insert the photo I often see ways to improve it. Does that happen to you? Maybe I should consider other possibilities before attaching the front to the base.
I definitely prefer the bright border I think it adds more pop. What do you think? The sentiment stamp "Trail Blazer" is part of the Hero Arts collection I recently purchased so it was easy to use that, but I was thinking about adding "Petal Pusher" or "Ride On", I know I'm silly sometimes cause I'm having so much fun.

Thanks for visiting and posting on my blog. Love the card and even though it is gorgeous being "plain" the bright background does make it pop. It's just fabulous!

ReplyDeleteI love how you've done this card, Carole! I like the one with the red layer, but (at least with my morning eyes) I prefer the one without, because there is nothing pulling my eye away from that fantastic focal image. Well-done either way!!
