Tuesday Morning Sketch#150

It's always so nice when someone takes the time to comment on my posts, that I try to return the visit and comment on their blog. That's how I discovered the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge. Thanks Cheryl for the comment and for encouraging your readers to participate in this challenge.

Tuesday Morning Sketch with a twist. The sketch, created by Melissa on the TMS DT added a twist: use black and kraft plus one other color. The DT's made some outstanding cards using this sketch. You'll be inspired and delighted to see a few of the sponsors digital stamps were used.

Designed to Delight digital stamps is the sponsor for this weeks challenge. I haven't had the opportunity to use digital stamps, so I'd sure like to win and learn how to use them.

Here's the 4" X 7"card I made. Card stock covered with a piece of brown paper bag, then added the frame and scalloped oval  die cut. Embossed, stamped and embellished with punched flowers and self adhesive black pearls. Pearl dimensional fabric paint was used on the corners and the scallops.

It's always tricky to finish a card with dimensional paint pearls, the risk of bumping or spearing the paint can ruin the card and it is difficult to squeeze consistent dots. The other thing is to walk away and let it dry. I did well with this one.

I think it's nice, maybe next time I'll use a bright color to make it pop. I learn something every time I design a card. As I'm blogging and seeing the card on screen I imagine ways to improve it. Do you experience that?

Be well Carole

  1. You are quite welcome, Carole! This card is so beautiful. I really like the cluster of white flowers--it's truly elegant. I know what you mean about the paint pearls...smearing is always a potential problem when applying it, but walking away is MY biggest problem. I almost always lay something on top of drying pearls (usually my arm!). Thanks so much for joining us again at Tuesday Morning Sketches!

  2. Carole, this is beautiful. The white as the third color looks crisp and pretty. Beautifully done. I'm the same with the liquid pearls, can't count the times I've squeezed out a huge blob and ruined something! Thanks for joining us at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week.
