Mojo Monday 267

A great sketch designed by Julee Tilman.
Using kraft paper, scraps, cork, twine and canvas I created this thank you card.  I've been doing some die cuts with a self adhesive cork sheet to see how it cuts. The cork flower is made from some inny cuts of a Fleur De Lis die from SB. Isn't it cute? The cork holds up well to the die cut but the backing paper doesn't. Easy remedy - remove and replace with copy paper. The strip of black leather came off a hair band and of course I knew I would recycle it on a card, but it wouldn't tie well enough to make a bow.

Up next is a herd of deer... I drew a deer, cut it out then scanned it. Using the trace feature on SCAL- I found the scanned file and traced it to create a svg file. Pretty simple right?  I was inspired to make this sweet deer when I saw this card: click here   Lin at Sending Hugs made the card last year using a stamp.
Lin creates the most amazing cards. I love all her creations, it's worth a visit for sure.

My darling niece loves critters so when I heard she just had surgery
(appendix removed) I made her this card.

I had to cut the head off and reattach it at a tilt to express an interest in what the bird has to say.
I can hear her now....ah that's so cute!

That's all for now. I'm headed over to Mo Jo Monday to enter that challenge.
Be well and thanks for visiting:)

  1. Carole, your cards are wonderful, but of course I'm drawn to that darling deer - how clever of you to draw your own - he's wonderful! Love your wintery scene! (It's been pinned on my Pinterest boards) Thanks so much for the mention.

  3. Great way to use all those wonderful embellies on your CAS card. I rarely think to use cork but really like it.

Oh, your other card is just adorable. I love birds and the way you tilted the deer head is just so sweet. Darling, wintry card.
