Time for One Layer and this time the theme is Wings.
I've been playing with the masking technique and emboss resist. I love the effect but not the inky fingers. I've also learned to apply the masking paper to some fabric to make it less sticky.
I think that the sentiment would look better in the bottom left corner.
I've also learned that not all embossing powders are good quality. I have a collection of small vials of embossing powders in various colors and they do not work well as you can see in this next card.
The powder clumped up and split when I applied heat. I do like the negative oval and the curved floral but not the end result.
This one got messed up too. I was trying the rule of three but it just doesn't work here. I'll keep trying and look for stamps that enhance the technique. Any insight you'd like to share would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you had fun making these Carole and discovered some styles that you like. I like the negative oval too... shame about the embossing powder!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much

"Less is More"
They are lovely, especially the second one. I think you are being too critical of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI've had the same problem with a couple of embossing powders but I'm afraid I couldn't find a solution, I threw them away in the end. And some seem to stick to the ink very patchily too.
Lovely stuff Carole
ReplyDeleteThank you very much
