CASology Week #14 Leaf

You've got to check out the amazing cards the design team did. Click here:
Bridget the guest designer has a bright and colorful beautifully embossed card.
I can't decide which of the designers cards is my favorite, but Ardyth actually
used a real leaf to stamp with.

Using the emboss resist technique I stamped and heat embossed the background then sponged the color. The maple leaf was cut, inked and using a stylus the veins were embossed. The thank you stamp completes this simple card.
Time to make another one.

This one actually looks better in person. I cut the maple leaf using a craft knife so I had a stencil as well as the positive cut. Using Versa mark I filled in the negative cut to shadow the gold heat embossed leaf place on top.
The CAS (clean and simple cards) really come together quickly,
so there is more time to play. I tend to over think these challenges,
making it more difficult then it needs to be.

There are some outstanding designs entered in this challenge.
I love that they show thumbnails and wish I could visit all of them.

A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent
of all the other virtues.  ~Cicero

Be well and thanks for visiting. ~ Carole
If you leave a comment I'll be happy to return the visit.

  2. Both are equally pretty and it's fun to review techniques that haven't been used in a long time. Actually, that is where I got my beginning...looks like I forgot my roots but your beautiful cards brought me back to the simple and elegant days of CAS.

  3. Wonderful fall impressions on these cards. I see more and more ways you are getting creative, too. I like the clean and simple gold one. The quote from Cicero is a great inclusion!
