Using my Card Design Handbook

I'm delighted with all I'm learning and practicing using the Card Design Handbook. Here are three I made just looking at the style or layout.  I love these 6" X 6" DP pads, they offer great coordinating papers.

I guess I'm a bit burned out with the challenges -  for now anyway. I seem to make it stressful, trying to leave comments for as many entries as I can, then trying to remember if I need to check back...and seeing so many amazing cards...then to be disappointed since I haven't won...not even a random pick. I just want to have fun.

I've talked with a few of my neighbors - that know I make cards - about hosting a card party. I'm not sure how that will work but I'm willing to try. They seem interested so I'm working on organizing my expanding collection of card into categories, then putting them in clear sleeves with an envelope.

I'll offer light refreshments and snacks and ask for suggestions, as I talk about my passion for card making. Incentives for hosting a party will be a percentage of sales toward there pick of cards. I need to work on a system to record inventory and sales. Oh what am I getting myself into?
I'll be happy to hear any advise you have to offer.

On a personal note: It's been 5 months since we lost our little buddy Beau. I still miss him soooo much. I was gathering some thing to donate to the local thrift store when I came across Beau's food bowls, toys, harness and leash. I asked Bill if we should let them go but he quickly took them and stored them in the shed. That is after I decided to plant some rooted cutting in his bowls. The bowls are shallow but with some little river rocks for drainage and potting soil they are thriving... so far. I placed his little corgi frame photo in the center. Our little shrine for Beauregard, on our antique hall tree.

So off to the thrift store to donate some items I've put aside, plus some dishes, a pitcher, a casserole and some bowls I found in the dumpster. Quality dishware, Pfaltzgraff. I took the pieces I could reach and cleaned them up to donate.

I get so upset when I see things of value discarded. Put them beside the dumpster - give people the opportunity to reuse them.

Of course after I dropped off the items, I had to take a look around. I picked up a beautiful cobalt blue vase with a thick clear glass base. I found a pad of colored paper and a box of 100 transparency film for $4.00. Wow what a bargain. I can experiment with heat embossing and other techniques for acetate. Found objects and fun bargains - what a lucky lady I am.
