Pop-Up Presents

Lisa Young has inspired me to make this pop-up birthday card. Her name is the link to her tutorial she so generously shared. Her card is absolutely stunning, be sure to check it out.

I love learning new techniques and I just jumped in and started this card on the inside using a Colorbok paper collection in browns and blues.

I would however, recommend starting on the front, and then coordinating the inside papers. I was so eager to figure it out I didn't know where I was going with it. I need to slow down and pay attention to the details.

Because the inside is printed and I needed to add a  message, I created the triangle corner pockets to include a personal note - shown first without the inserts.

The next time I will plan in advance, because I really struggled to bring it all together. Lesson learned.

Up next is my version of a card I saw on Pinterest. Unfortunately I didn't pin it so I can't credit anyone for the inspiration. I did keep it in mind though and I took a long time to get around to it. If I do another one I will make the bags smaller, maybe use magazine pictures like advertising. Now that's an idea.

This beautiful colored paper was picked from my stash of scraps when I saw a card by Lin on a Moxie Fab World post. I tried to recreate the feel of Lin's gorgeous card with supplies I have. I punched the circle using a "Baby's Breath" punch by Easy Cut Craft, to replace Lin's embossed doily. I added the MS punched butterfly and tiny hydrangea's. It's the color I like most about this card, wish I had some more paper in this soft turquoise.

I'm almost finished completing July's birthday and anniversary cards and will mail a few tomorrow, then maybe I'll find time for a challenge.

Stay cool my friend and craft on. Thanks for visiting, leave a comment and I'll return the favor. Be well Carole

  1. Hello!

I love your pop-up card! I was inspired by Lisa also - the one I made was a birthday card! I will make one again as I was so pleased with the results, but it did take me longer than expected. Maybe the second one goes faster! Love your choice of colors and paper! Wishing you a happy Sunday!

    Hugs,
